Communication Arts Award — Product Design

Winning in the Disruptive category is a meaningful milestone for me. It reflects where I believe my strengths lie: thinking differently, challenging assumptions, and designing experiences that can reshape behavior in thoughtful ways.

My First Design Award

My First Design Award

My design journey started back in high school, over a decade ago. Since then, design has become more than a skill—it's been a way for me to build confidence, challenge my imposter syndrome, and trust my instincts. This first award is a meaningful milestone, and a reminder of why I fell in love with design in the first place.

This D&AD award reflects what I believe in: universal human rights, social justice, and the idea that design can be a force for empathy. For me, this work is about using design to help make the world a little kinder.

Would love to meet you!

I was born in Sichuan, China, raised in Singapore, and now call Hell's Kitchen, New York home. I refer to myself as a local foreigner — shaped by many places, always observing, always learning, and still curious like a tourist. Living across cultures has given me a deep appreciation for different ideologies, social norms, and everyday struggles. I'm drawn to people's stories — especially the ones that challenge my own. That global lens fuels how I think, create, and connect, with the hope that my work can spark impact, even in small ways. A third-culture kid turned designer, I build with empathy, curiosity, and a touch of spice ( sichuanese style).
